Halloween at Hull-House

Halloween at Hull-House

Each October, Hull-House presents a season of programs exploring the folklore, legends, and ghosts that have shaped the history of the settlement and its surrounding neighborhood. Through tours, talks, performances, and family-friendly events, visitors are invited to encounter the stories that have made Hull-House one of Chicago’s most haunted and historic places.

For more than a century, tales of the Devil Baby, the Lady in White, and other supernatural encounters have circulated through Hull-House and the Near West Side. These stories are more than seasonal curiosities. They offer a window into the experiences of immigrant communities, the social transformations of industrial Chicago, and the ways people have used storytelling to make sense of hardship, change, and the unknown.

Whether you are drawn by local folklore, Chicago history, or the thrill of a haunting narrative, Halloween at Hull-House offers an opportunity to explore the rich traditions of storytelling that continue to connect past and present.
