About the object

This well-used bowl was made by the Russian coppersmith Falick Novick, who immigrated to New York in 1893 and arrived in Chicago in 1907. Novick worked in metal and enamel at Hull-House and by 1909 owned his own shop in the neighborhood, where he designed, crafted, and sold handwrought copper and silverware.
