Neighborhood Social

Event flyer for a Neighborhood Social with three vintage art images, event details (Sept. 10, 6–9 PM), ticket prices, RSVP info, and mention of food, drinks, silent auction, performance, and celebration.

Join Hull-House for a celebration of history and the arts as tools for civic participation! Our evening is inspired by the “Hull-House Chamber Theatre,” gatherings that took place in the homes of friends and supporters during the 1960s. This intimate evening will feature a performance by acclaimed chamber music ensemble D-Composed, weaving in texts from the play Halsted Street, which was written and performed at Hull-House in 1939. A silent auction will feature work by contemporary Chicago artists, historic photographic prints from the Hull-House Collection, and signature “experiences” of Chicago history.

Auction experiences include four tickets to the Joffrey’s Nutcracker alongside drinks or tea with dance historian Susan Manning, Chicago history bike tour with historian Brad Hunt, dinner with a private chef at the historic Ravenswood home of artist Martin Puryear, a guided tour and membership to the Driehaus Museum, and a behind-the-scenes tour of Saint Ignatius College Prep and Church of the Holy Family, the “Ellis Island of the Midwest” with historian Ellen Skerrett. We are so excited to share these experiences (and more) with you!
