Accessibility

The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum is committed to providing a welcoming experience for all visitors. If you have questions about accessibility or would like to discuss accommodations before your visit, please contact us at 312-413-5353 or jahh@uic.edu.
Entering the Museum
The museum consists of two historic buildings: the Hull Home and the Residents’ Dining Hall.
The first floor of the Hull Home is wheelchair accessible through the West Entrance. Please note that the East Entrance, facing Halsted Street, requires the use of stairs. Due to the historic nature of the building, the second floor of the Hull Home is not currently accessible by elevator.
The Residents’ Dining Hall is wheelchair accessible through its North Entrance, along the walkway West of (behind) the Hull Home. An elevator provides access to the upper-level restrooms and offices in the Residents’ Dining Hall building.
Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are located in the Residents’ Dining Hall and can be reached by elevator.
An all-gender restroom is available on the second floor of the Hull Home.
Planning Your Visit
Our staff are happy to answer questions about building access, entrances, seating, and visitor accommodations. We encourage visitors to contact us before their visit if there is anything we can do to make their experience more comfortable and accessible.
The museum is continuously working to improve access to our buildings, exhibitions, and programs. We are working towards a time when the East Entrance (front door) and the second floor of the Hull Home will be accessible to all.
Parking
University of Illinois Chicago operates two parking facilities directly opposite the museum on Halsted Street. Accessible parking spots are available at an hourly rate in the flat lot.
